Gareth Richards

Gareth is a barrister who practises in general commercial litigation and public and administrative law.

His recent experience has been in judicial review applications (for applicants and respondents), contentious securities and financial markets work and property law litigation. He has experience in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal; in mediations and before arbitral tribunals.

Prior to commencing practice as a barrister Gareth worked in advisory roles at the New Zealand Parliament for senior opposition MPs and later a front bench Cabinet Minister. Working at Parliament has given him a strong understanding of legislative and other parliamentary processes. He also has experience working with the public service in the development and implementation of policy.
